The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe comes standard with four-piston fixed-caliper brakes at the front and single-piston, floating-caliper brakes at the rear. The M Sport package and M850i xDrive models have larger brake discs, with 374mm discs for M Sport and 395mm discs for M850i xDrive. Some models, like the M8 Competition, offer an optional upgrade to M compound brakes with six-piston front calipers, along with an option for carbon ceramic brakes. The M Sport brakes and M compound brakes can be customized with optional black or red calipers.
